Muffle Furnace

The Muffle Furnace has mainly three important parts which can be described as electronic control unit, inner chamber and insulation. The furnace chamber is heated by electric resistance elements made of kanthal wire and is insulated with fire bricks and mineral wool insulation. The controller is located under the furnace chamber and the reason for placing it here is that it will be well insulated from the heat generated in the furnace chamber. A door safety switch removes power to the heating elements whenever the furnace door is opened. The temperature is controlled by one of three types of controllers
Our Muffle Furnace is Light weight and this can be attributed to the use of ceramic wool insulation (instead of Brick insulation). The outer casting is made of double walled thick PCRC sheet, duly painted with attractive stove enamel. The inner casing is made of alumina block/ceramic wall (as per temperature). The unit is provided with single doors (flap type, lift type, single side opening). This door is provided with magnetic door closer. This door is provided with lock and key arrangement.

Heating:
Heating elements are made of kanthal wire, silicon carbide rod, and molybdenum rod depending upon the temperature.

Temperature Control:
The temperature inside our muffle furnace is controlled through PID controller

Temperature Range:
Temperature range of our standard furnace is 900°C-1800°C.

Voltage:
To work on 220/230V A.C. supply.

A few applications of the Muffle Furnace can be described as below:

Heat treatment of Gears
Heat treatment of steel parts.
Coal analysis
Quench testing
Annealing loss determination
Organic and inorganic ashing
Research facilities in chemistry
Chemical analysis
Soils & aggregates cement Testing
Development of coatings and ceramics
Glass blowing lab
Rice laboratory
Plastic tensile strength test
Stoneware samples firing
